Pastoral Letter

Greetings on behalf of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Welcome to the website of Grace family Baptist Church of Conroe. Many of the members of GfBC Conroe have joined here because they were looking for reverent worship of the God who is worthy of our awe. They were looking for the Word of God to be preached, explained, and obeyed with faithfulness. They were looking for a church ordered according to the clear pattern established in the Scriptures. They were looking for a church in which they would be warmly received, encouraged in daily life, and instructed according to the Scriptures as they rest in the finished work of Jesus Christ and live their lives to the glory of God.

We seek to live out intentionally our Vision Statement: To be a Kingdom-minded, Christ-exalting, multigenerational, community of faith. This means everything begins and ends with the glory and the revelation of our Father in Heaven, and the Kingdom of His Son, by the work of His Holy Spirit. What you will find at GfBC Conroe is a close body of believers of all kinds: younger, older, large families, small families, singles and those whose kids are grown. We are not a church for a particular kind of Christian, but rather a small representation of the demographics of Heaven itself. We are weak, but our Lord is strong. We seek to take Him and His Word very seriously, but not take ourselves too seriously. Through Him, we seek to be bound together in “the Spirit of unity and the bond of peace” (Ephesians 4:3).

Sadly, many in our day have proven 2 Timothy 4:3-4 to be true – “For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths”. Many churches have become man-centered, shallow, moralistic, and ultimately irrelevant to a culture desperately in need of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Will you join with us in the proclamation of a clear and urgent call to men and women and children everywhere to turn to Jesus Christ in repentance and faith?

The Lord established this local body as a church plant from GfBC North Houston in March, 2010, and I have served here as Pastor since the beginning. We were sent out to establish a Confessional, Reformed, Baptist, and family integrated church. In that order. What does that mean? Confessional? Reformed? Baptist? Family integrated? These are important concepts for us, and I encourage you to spend a little time on our website where we explain those terms.
